On January 16, Shanhaiguan Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd. (SHGSIC) under Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) named and delivered the 36,880 DWT Great Lakes cargo ship “POLSTEAM OKRA” (B37K-5) for Poland’s PZM.
It is reported that “POLSTEAM OKRA” is the fifth of 12 new generation of green and environmentally friendly Great Lakes Cargo Ships built by SHGSIC for Polish PZM Company.
The ship is 199.99 meters long and 23.7 meters wide, equipped with 6 cargo holds with foldable hatch covers. Its maneuverability, economic performance, energy-saving and environmental protection performance are better than those of similar ships, and it has strong market competitiveness. Its application range is flexible, and it has good port suitability and seaworthiness. The ship meets the requirements of the International Maritime Organization Tier III emission standards and the third Phase of EEDI standards, and is classed by LR.
