Zhejiang Kailing Shipyard Receives Contract to Build a RoPax ship

On January 15, Zhejiang Kailing Shipyard (Naval Factory 4806) signed a construction contract for a 65-meter RoPax ship with Zhedong Transportation Investment and Development Co. This is the first shipbuilding order in 2025 that Zhejiang Kailing Shipyard’s shipbuilding business has successfully signed.

This type of ship is a RoPax ship with an all-steel structure and two engines and two propellers. The ship is 65 meters in length, 15 meters in width and 4.9 meters in depth. It is a passenger and cargo ro-ro ship with hazardous goods transportation qualifications. It can meet the transfer needs of hazardous chemicals vehicles and personnel, while taking into account the guarantee of transportation mobility during peak holiday periods.

It is understood that the signing of this contract is the sixth cooperation between the two sides in the field of construction of passenger ferries. In the past, Zhejiang Kailing Shipyard had built five car ferries for them, which were highly recognized by the owner for their superior quality and reliable performance.

So far, Zhejiang Kailing Shipyard has built nearly 100 small and medium-sized ships of various types for customers from home and abroad. The factory is mainly engaged in ship repairs, construction and dismantling. At the same time, it is committed to the research and development into civilian products. It has introduced a series of civil production lines, such as textile machinery, electrical insulation treatment equipment and large steel structures. It also offers services in port machinery installation and repair.

In addition, Kailing Shipyard has recently signed a contract for the construction of a 2×1,838KW ASD tug with Guangdong Zhanjiang Port Longteng Shipping.
