From January to December 2024, China’s shipbuilding completion volume was 48.18 million DWT,, an increase of 13.8% year-on-year; the volume of new orders received was 113.05 million DWT, an increase of 58.8% year-on-year; and as of the end of December, the volume of orders in hand was 208.72 million DWT, an increase of 49.7% year-on-year.
From January to December, China’s shipbuilding completion, new orders and hand-held orders accounted for 55.7%, 74.1% and 63.1% of the global total in terms of deadweight tons, and 50.3%, 68.2% and 55.4% in terms of compensated gross tonnage(CGT), respectively.
