Hubei Jinyu New Energy Shipbuilding Co. successfully held the signing ceremony for the ship factory construction project on the morning of January 11.
At the ceremony, representatives from City Investment Company, Guangji Xinneng Shipbuilding, and Jinyu New Energy Shipbuilding jointly signed the “Construction Project Contract.” This marks the beginning of deep cooperation among the parties to achieve the completion of the Factory of Jinyu New Energy Shipbuilding through resource sharing and complementary advantages.
Jinyu New Energy Shipbuilding was established in March 2024, and the construction was officially started at the end of October 2024. The signing of this engineering and construction contract means that the construction of the shipyard’s main engineering structure, plant workshops, office areas, etc. will enter a new stage, and also lay a solid foundation for the Intelligent New Energy Ship Industrial Park in Hubei Province to realize the launching of the first intelligent new energy ship at the end of 2025.
With a planned hull prefabrication workshop covering an area of 27,500 square meters and equipped with 67 cranes, Jinyu New Energy Shipbuilding is the first shipbuilding enterprise to be located in the intelligent new energy shipbuilding industrial park in Hubei Province. The shipyard will be building intelligent, high-end stainless steel oil tankers up to 30,000 tons, and has already held shipbuilding contracts worth tens of billions of yuan.
It is reported that the Hubei Intelligent New Energy Ship Industry Park Project highlights the two main features of intelligent and new energy, integrating new energy ship construction, maintenance and operation, and focusing on creating a national green and intelligent ship application pioneer area.
The construction of Hubei Intelligent New Energy Ship Industrial Park project covers the area of hydraulic engineering and intelligent manufacturing, with a total investment of RMB 10 billion.
The overall planning of the park covers an area of about 10,000 mu, using 3,000 meters of the Changjiang River coastline. The initial planning construction land scale is about 6,750 mu, using 3,000 meters of the Changjiang River coastline, and planning to build “four districts and one road”. After completion and production, the annual output value is expected to reach more than RMB 10 billion, creating about 30,000 jobs and realizing about RMB 1 billion in tax revenue.
