On January 9, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the list of the first batch of excellent intelligent factories. Among them, the Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base of China Offshore Oil Engineering Co (COOEC) was successfully selected as the first batch of “excellent intelligent factories” in China with its “network-based collaborative offshore oil and gas equipment smart factory”.
Based on the information available, the Excellence-Class Intelligent Factory is recognized as a domestically leading intelligent factory by six departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Data Administration. It is also a key achievement of the 2024 Intelligent Factory Gradient Cultivation Action, supporting the establishment of the integrated work system of intelligent factories, solutions, and standards.
The selection process for this application for excellence level intelligent factories covered many industrial enterprises across the country, and the final list of winners was determined after layers of screening and expert review.
The base adopts new-generation information technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, AR, 5G, industrial Internet and digital twins to achieve the integration of design, production and operation data, intelligent management and control of manufacturing equipment, and intelligent optimization and exploration of production processes, forming a new model of intelligent manufacturing that integrates digital management, intelligent production, and network integration.
The base carries out intelligent manufacturing process control and process technology development for offshore oil and gas equipment, completes the construction of seven production lines including plate cutting, process pipeline prefabrication, structural pipe prefabrication and deck piece welding, realizes intelligent cutting, intelligent sorting, intelligent assembly, automatic welding and efficient logistics within the factory, and improves production operation efficiency and quality.
Up to now, the CNC rate of key equipment at the base has exceeded 82%, the automation rate of key processes has exceeded 52%, and the overall productivity of the plant has been improved by more than 22%.
In recent years, Tianjin Intelligent Manufacturing Base has achieved high-standard intelligent transformation results, earning several prestigious titles. These include being recognized as a 2023 Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration Factory by five departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, being selected as a 2023 State-Owned Enterprise Digital Transformation Pilot Enterprise by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, and receiving the “2023 5G Factory” designation from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
