Minsheng Financial Leasing Receives North China’s First 16,000 TEU Dual-Fuel Container Ship

On January 9, the first 16,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship in North China built by CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding for Minsheng Financial Leasing was named and delivered 172 days ahead of the contract period.

The 16,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship named MSC VIOLA is the largest container ship of new generation in Panama. With a ship length of 366 meters and a width of 51 meters, it can carry 16,196 standard containers, including 1,800 reefer containers, and has remarkable highlights such as low comprehensive energy consumption, wide compatibility of cabin types, strong cargo-carrying capacity, and good route matching.

The ship adopts a new design concept and is equipped with energy-saving fairings, twisted rudders, bubble drag reduction systems and other drag reduction equipment, which can significantly reduce navigation resistance, increase ship speed and reduce fuel consumption. It adopts WinGD dual-fuel main engine equipped with iCER system, and the main generator set is equipped with LPSCR system, which can effectively deal with NOx emission and meet the requirements of TierIII emission class, making it a green, energy-saving and highly efficient large-scale container ship.

The successful delivery of the first 16,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship marks that CSSC (Tianjin) Shipbuilding has taken a solid step forward in the construction of large LNG dual-fuel container ships, realizing the whole process through.
