Stena RoRo’s 12th RoPax vessel sets sail

According to China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) (“CMJL (Weihai)”), on January 2, the 12th high-end E-Flexer RoPax vessel “GUILLAUME DE NORMANDIE” of the Stena E-flexer series slowly sailed away from CMJL (Weihai) wharf No. 5 and started its voyage.

Measuring 194.7 meters in length and 27.8 meters in breadth with a service speed of 23 knots, the vessel is capable of carrying various types of vehicles such as sedans and heavy duty vehicles. The vessel can carry 1,300 passengers, equipped with 222 cabins and 900 sets of luxury lounge chairs, and a pod cabin is added at 6A to meet the night accommodation needs of different passengers. Public entertainment venues include bars, lounges, shops, children’s playgrounds, pet rooms, sun decks, etc., to further enhance the travel experience.

Classed by DNV, the vessel meets the requirements of Shore Power, Battery(Power), SRTP and other new ship notation requirements, reflecting the diversification and flexibility of Stena E-Flexer series vessel design.

The vessel is equipped with the Birdeye system, which ensures fast maneuvering in and out of ports and meets the increasingly stringent requirements of the marine environment and port fairways. The special bow and stern door design and energy efficiency management system are compatible with berthing and loading at various berths such as Portsmouth (UK) and Ouistreham (France), planning the optimal sailing mode for the vessel.

According to the owner’s plan, “GUILLAUME DE NORMANDIE” will arrive in Santander, Spain in late February. There it will be refitted to provide safe, comfortable and convenient transportation for passengers and cargo in the best condition.
