Recently, the 1,000-ton fully revolving derrick barge “Tiejian Daqiaoqi No. 2” of China Railway Construction Bridge Engineering Bureau Group, which was constructed by Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry was successfully launched. The vessel was developed and designed by Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC).
The “Tiejian Daqiaoqi No. 2” is about 130 meters long, 37.2 meters wide and 8.8 meters deep. It can operate in offshore areas and the A and B sections of the Changjiang River, and can be towed and deployed in unlimited areas. The vessel is fully electric-driven, with a full-slewing luffing crane at the stern, equipped with an 8-point mooring positioning system and a DP-1-level dynamic positioning system.
The vessel can be used for the installation of prefabricated bridge structures such as steel box girder hoisting, concrete box girder hoisting, and steel cofferdam installation, bridge construction operations such as steel pipe pile driving, and other large-scale offshore structure installation projects.
It is the first revolving derrick barge in China that meets both the requirements of sea-going vessel specifications and the construction restrictions of height and draught limitations in the Changjiang River waterway. The vessel meets the height limit requirement of no more than 24 meters above the waterline when crossing a bridge, and has an innovatively designed A-frame, retractable, fully-rotating heavy-duty crane.
When the crane vessel is in full-rotating lifting operation, the ballast water in the relevant ballast tank of the vessel has to be ballasted, discharged and adjusted. The vessel can ensure a variety of lifting conditions of stability and floating requirements and crane operations on the vessel inclination requirements, and effectively enhance the lifting construction of the ballast adjustment efficiency, to ensure that the lifting vessel operation is safe and reliable.
This vessel is the first in China to have an integrated design and optimized configuration of the positioning system for a thousand-ton offshore crane vessel. The configuration of the DP-1 dynamic positioning system, eight-point mooring positioning system and single anchor 12-level wind resistance system can take into account the needs of both offshore and inland river operations, ensuring accurate and rapid positioning, efficient and reliable lifting operations, and improving safety and wind resistance survivability.
The construction of “Tiejian Daqiaoqi No. 2” started in March 2024 and is scheduled to be delivered at the end of March 2025.
