Wang Guoqiang, director, deputy party secretary and labor union chairman of China FAW Group, will be promoted to general manager of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), multiple sources said. Since Yang Jincheng’s retirement in December 2023, the post of general manager of CSSC has been vacant for a year.
According to China Business News, a reporter from the newspaper contacted China FAW as well as CSSC to confirm the news, and CSSC responded by saying, “It has not yet been formally (notified), and will meet and send out a document when the time comes.”
At noon on January 5, Wang Guoqiang was still in the list of leading members on the official website of China FAW, and the official website was updated in the afternoon that Wang Guoqiang was no longer in the list.
According to information on FAW’s official website, Wang Guoqiang was born in March 1967, joined the Communist Party of China in June 1994, started working in August 1988, graduated from Wuhan Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical technology and equipment, holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California as a senior engineer.
Recently, the leadership of CSSC Group has been undergoing “intensive” adjustments. According to previous reports, on December 30, the “Group Leadership” column of CSSC’s official website was adjusted, and the chairman and party group secretary was changed from Wen Gang to Xu Peng; Hu Xianfu was added to the group leadership as deputy general manager and member of the party group.
