Sinochem’s 174,000 cbm LNG carrier was launched in Changxing Phase II new plant of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding

On January 2, a 174,000 cbm LNG carrier built by Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding for the Sinochem’s Petroleum LNG project was successfully launched. This is the first LNG carrier built in the dock after the completion of the company’s Changxing Phase II new plant.

It is a large LNG carrier independently developed by Hudong-Zhonghua, and its performance indexes have reached the world’s leading position.

The vessel combines the latest design concept, the best technical equipment, the strongest environmental performance and the most forward-looking ship type, with an overall length of 299 meters and a beam of 46.4 meters. It adopts the latest generation of double stern fin shape, carrying a number of low-carbon and digital technologies, with good fast performance and low comprehensive energy consumption.

In addition, the vessel is characterized by good low-temperature performance, wide cabin compatibility; light empty ship weight, strong cargo capacity; clever control and operation, and good route matching.

Hudong-Zhonghua’s strategy of doubling its LNG carrier production capacity has been pushed forward, with the total number of LNG carriers delivered and in hand exceeding 100, and the global market share exceeding 20%.
