On January 2nd, Adora Cruises announced the appointment of Mr. Chen Ranfeng as the company’s CEO. Mr. Chen Ranfeng will lead the company’s team to meet new development opportunities and challenges, and continue to build a “Chinese paradigm” for the global cruise industry.
Mr. Chen Ranfeng is one of the founders of AIDA Cruises. At the beginning of Adora Cruises’ establishment and development, Mr. Chen Ranfeng built a team from scratch, established and improved the company’s system, and led the team to overcome numerous difficulties and achieved the independent operation of the first domestically-made large cruise ship Adora Magic City and the “art ship” Adora Mediterranean.
Upon his transition to Senior Advisor to the Board of Directors on July 1, 2024, Mr. Chen Ranfeng has provided invaluable strategic support for the long-term development of Adora Cruises with his insightful and constructive advice.
Recently, CSSC Cruise Technology Development and Huaxia International Cruise Line jointly announced that Huaxia Cruise increased its investment in Adora Cruises. Both parties will give full play to their respective advantages, optimize the layout of the cruise industry, and inject new momentum into the high-quality development of China’s cruise industry. After the capital increase is completed, Huaxia International Cruise Line will hold 65% of the shares of Aida Cruises, and CSSC Cruise Technology Development will hold 35% of the shares.
Adora Cruises will continue to operate as an independent brand after the completion of the capital increase. The company will continue to expand its fleet size, optimize its fleet deployment and enhance customer experience, so as to further build China’s flagship cruise company with full operational capabilities and help China develop into a world cruise power.
At present, the two large cruise ships operated by AIDA Cruises – the first domestic large cruise ship Adora Magic City and the “Art Ship” Adora Mediterranean – have served nearly 500,000 domestic and foreign guests. The second domestic large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, is under construction and is scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2026 and start international routes in Nansha, Guangzhou.
