On January 1, the newly built 700-ton gantry crane at Jiangmen Nanyang Ship Engineering (JNS) completed the installation of an 850-ton main beam, marking the successful completion of its main structure.
Established in early 2005 and located in Silver Lake, Xinhui District, Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, China. JNS two shipyards cover an area of 720000m2 , 1000m coastline, with modern shipbuilding facilities. JNS is capable of building vessels up to 100,000 tons with an annual production capacity of 1 million DWT. At present, the shipyard specializes in building handysize bulk carriers and has delivered 126 vessels.
JNS has two plant sites, its Nanyang site has a 400m x 41.8m x 10.8m dock (with 2 sets of 300t gantry cranes) and a 600m long outfitting quay; and its Heavy Plant site has a 320m x 41.8m x 10.3m dock (with 1 set of 500t gantry cranes).
The completion of the new gantry crane will lay a solid foundation for the production of the shipyard and create favorable conditions for the construction of ship projects to speed up again.
