ZPMC Holds Completion Ceremony for First 30,000-Ton Class Heavy-lift Deck Cargo Vessel

On December 31st, Zhenhua 37, the first 30,000-ton heavy-lift deck cargo vessel designed and built by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machinery (ZPMC), held a four-party witnessing ceremony for the completion node in Shanghai ZPMC Qidong Marine Engineering. Representatives of Nantong Maritime Bureau, China Classification Society, ZPMC Marine Services and Zhenhua Offshore attended the ceremony and signed the completion documents.

“Zhenhua 37” is a multi-purpose shallow draft deck carrier with an overall length of 170 meters, a breadth of 40 meters, a depth of 10.5 meters and a design draft of 6.5 meters.

Equipped with DP2 power positioning system in line with IMO specification, the vessel has a range of 18,000 nautical miles, a maximum deadweight of 26,000 tons, a maximum speed of not less than 13 knots, which can navigate in the global sea area, and it is classed by CCS and flying the Chinese flag.

The vessel is equipped with a set of intelligent ship management system, which can realize intelligent management of energy efficiency, engine room and navigation. Its ballast system can meet the left and right, forward and backward barging of ballast tanks according to the loading characteristics, which can greatly improve the loading and unloading efficiency.

The vessel is mainly used for the ocean transportation of ZPMC’s port machinery, and can also be used for the shipment of platform modules and large components for bridges, wharves, wind power, offshore oil and other large-scale engineering projects.
