CSSC Chengxi Shipyard Signs Contract for Two 82,600 DWT Bulk Carriers with Hebei Xinyang Shipping

On December 28, CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, together with China Shipbuilding Trading Co. Ltd (CSTC) and Hebei Xinyang Shipping, signed a contract to build two 82,600 DWT bulk carriers.

This ship type of this project is the second generation of 82,600 DWT bulk carrier independently researched and developed by CSSC Chengxi Shipyard, which is characterized by green environmental protection, excellent performance, large cargo carrying capacity and strong adaptability.

The vessel is 229.00 meters long, 32.26 meters wide, 20.20 meters deep, with a designed draft of 12.20 meters and a designed service speed of 14.0 knots.

On the basis of ensuring the hull performance, the vessel’s deadweight exceeds the conventional 82,000-ton bulk carrier by 876 tons, and the cargo hold capacity is as high as 97,900 cubic meters. Both the main and auxiliary engines are equipped with a denitrification SCR system, meeting the third phase standard of the Ship Energy Efficiency Index and the International Maritime Organization’s T3 emission requirements.

It is understood that the successful signing of the new vessel construction contract marks the opening of a new chapter of deepening cooperation between the two parties on the basis of the good cooperation in the past ship repair projects. It is reported that the first vessel of the project will be delivered in the second half of 2028.
