COSCO SHIPPING Group’s Northeast Regional Headquarters was unveiled in Dalian

On December 28, the inauguration ceremony of China COSCO Shipping Corporation’s Northeast regional headquarters was held in Dalian, marking a key step in COSCO Shipping Group’s strategic layout in the Northeast region and injecting new impetus into regional economic development.

The establishment of COSCO SHIPPING Group’s Northeast Regional Headquarters is of great significance to the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China and the promotion of the integrated development of the central and local governments. The project has received support from the government, which will provide a high-quality business environment and policy guarantees.

Liu Peng, deputy director of the Water Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, said in his speech that the establishment of the Northeast regional headquarters of COSCO Shipping Group will become a new guide and new model for central-local cooperation, better serve the national strategic needs, more proactively integrate into regional development, focus more quickly on the main business of shipping and logistics, actively expand related diversified businesses, and help the Northeast region’s industrial upgrading and structural optimization.

A COSCO Shipping Group director stated that this move is a key measure in response to the national strategy for revitalizing Northeast China and optimizing industrial layout. The group will continue to focus on serving the development of industries in Northeast China and promoting high-level opening-up, reducing logistics costs, promoting the construction of major sea and land channels in Northeast China, and fully leveraging its functions to promote central and local cooperation, enhance industrial services, coordinate resources, and deepen the construction of an integrated comprehensive service system of “shipping + port + logistics.” This demonstrates new responsibilities and new actions in promoting the economic linkage development of Northeast China.
