In 2024, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding has made a significant breakthrough in its operations, focusing on the acquisition of a batch of high-value-added and high-output green products. It has secured orders for 56 new civil shipbuilding products across 12 types, with a total value exceeding 20 billion yuan.
At the beginning of this year, Huangpu Wenchong successfully signed a series of orders for 16 units of 4300TEU container ships with clients from Thailand, Turkey, and Taiwan, marking its successful entry into the medium-sized container ship market.
The signing of the order for 4300TEU container ship series further consolidated the company’s advantages in this segment, expanded the brand sequence of Huangpu Wenchong container ships, and maintained the world’s first place in terms of hand-held orders for the same series of container ships products.
Huangpu Wenchong has secured orders for 25,000-cubic-meter and 41,000-cubic-meter ammonia dual-fuel powered liquefied petroleum gas/liquid ammonia carriers. This is the first ammonia dual-fuel gas carrier construction project in China and represents another major breakthrough for Huangpu Wenchong in the field of gas carrier construction. These orders enrich Huangpu Wenchong’s gas carrier portfolio, significantly enhance the company’s position in the gas carrier market, and lay a solid foundation for the future construction of 60,000-cubic-meter gas carriers.
The 2400TEU methanol dual-fuel container ship has received its first batch order. This is Huangpu Wenchong’s first self-designed dual-fuel ship order, which not only consolidates Huangpu Wenchong’s position in the feeder container ship market and further expands the influence of the Huangpu Wenchong brand, but also serves as a breakthrough for Huangpu Wenchong’s independently designed ships to enter the new energy ship market.
Huangpu Wenchong continues to make strides in high-end offshore engineering products, once again earning the favor of long-term customers. The company has successfully entered the European offshore wind power market and secured an order for high-end offshore wind power operation and maintenance vessels, further consolidating its position as an industry leader in South China’s offshore engineering construction sector.
