According to Xinhua News, data released by the Yangtze River Shipping Administration of the Ministry of Transport on December 26 indicates that the cargo throughput of ports along the Yangtze River is expected to reach 4.02 billion tons in 2024, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 3.9%.
This is the first time that the annual port cargo throughput of the Yangtze River mainline has exceeded the 4 billion tons mark, once again ranking first in the world inland waterway. The development of shipping on the Yangtze River has shown a good situation of stronger resilience and increasing quantity and quality.
