On December 26, Hubei Hechuang Heavy Industry (Hechuang Heavy Industry) announced that it has officially signed a contract with Sichuan Xinwangda Shipping for the construction project of 20 130-meter LNG single-fuel multi-purpose vessels.
On August 2, 2024, the Ministry of Transport and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the “Implementation Rules for Subsidies for Scrapping and Renewal of Old Operating Vessels in Transportation”, which covers the period from the date of issuance to December 31, 2028, for the implementation of the rules.
It is understood that this batch of vessels uses LNG as a single fuel power source, which complies with the requirements for new energy and clean energy operating vessels issued by the Ministry of Transport and the National Development and Reform Commission, and performs well in terms of environmental protection and high efficiency.
Its single-fuel power system reduces the emission of harmful substances, actively responds to the national call for green shipping, and contributes to the protection of the ecological environment of the Yangtze River basin. As multi-purpose vessels, these new vessels will become an important support for the flow of materials in the Sichuan River Basin, promoting the prosperity and development of the regional economy.
Sichuan Xinwangda Shipping was established on August 27, 2024, with a registered capital of RMB 10 million, and its business scope includes: inter-provincial general cargo ship transportation, intra-provincial ship transportation; general cargo transportation on waterways and so on.
According to public information, Hechuang Heavy Industry was founded in 2015, with a total area of 1,600 mu, located in Huangzhou District, Huanggang City, Hubei Province, with 1,500 meters of Yangtze River shoreline, is a key investment project in Huanggang City. With an annual shipbuilding capacity of 5 million DWT, Hechuang Heavy Industry is a leading shipbuilding enterprise in the central region.
