EMF and CIMC SOE sign a 20,000 m3 LNG transport bunkering vessel

Recently, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (hereinafter referred to as “CIMC SOE”) and Equatorial Marine Fuel Management Services Pte. Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “EMF”) successfully signed an order for a 20,000 cubic meter LNG transport and bunkering vessel. The successful signing of this order further demonstrates CIMC SOE’s outstanding strength and leading position in the international small and medium-sized liquefied gas transport and bunkering vessel market.

EMF is a Singapore-based marine fuel supplier and bunker tanker operator that owns and operates a fleet of approximately 30 tankers, providing alternative low-carbon/zero-carbon marine fuels including LNG, methanol, ammonia and hydrogen. In 2022 and 2023, EMF was ranked as Singapore’s largest bunker supplier by sales volume by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA).

This vessel is independently designed and built by CIMC SOE, with a total length of 160 meters, a width of 25 meters, and a design speed of up to 15.5 knots, meeting the latest needs of the international shipping market. As a new generation of LNG transport and bunkering vessel, it is equipped with the latest WINGD dual-fuel main engine and iCER technology.

It can meet IMO Tier III emission standards in either traditional fuel mode or LNG fuel mode, significantly reducing pollution emissions, methane escape and greenhouse gas release during operation, making it an ideal choice for green shipping.

Meanwhile, the optimization of the cargo containment system of this series of vessels achieves a lower evaporation rate than that of vessels of the same size in the market and reduces operating costs. These features not only enhance the market competitiveness of the vessels, but also further promote the pace of the global shipping industry’s transition to low-carbon.
