On December 23, Xinneng Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Jining Energy Group, officially started construction of a 2000DWT bulk carrier in the hull joint workshop.
It is reported that Xinneng Shipbuilding signed a ship cooperation agreement with Zijin Mining Group on December 3rd. Both parties agreed that Xinneng Shipbuilding will design and build four 2000DWT bulk carriers for Zijin Mining Group for cargo transportation in Tanzania, Africa. The order is the first overseas inland waterway shipbuilding project of Xinneng Shipbuilding, with a total amount of more than 10 million US dollars.
According to the agreement, both parties will give full play to the advantages in various fields, establish strategic communication mechanism, deepen the mode of cooperation, and further carry out comprehensive cooperation in the fields of shipbuilding, trade and logistics.
The vessel being built is the first in the 2000DWT bulk carrier series, with a total length of 70.08 meters, a beam of 15 meters, a depth of 4.5 meters, a designed draft of 3.5 meters, and a cruising range of 1,000 nautical miles.
It is understood that Zijin Mining Group, as a large multinational mining group ranked fifth in the world’s metal mining companies and first in the world’s gold companies, is a Fortune 500 company. This time, based on the development of port and shipping business in Tanzania, Africa, it seeks partners nationwide.
