On December 24, Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry (XSI) under Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group, held a signing and naming ceremony for the second 7,500 CEU LNG PCTC (pure car and track carrier) in the series built for BOCOM Leasing. The new PCTC is named “Haihekou” and will depart from Shanghai for its maiden voyage to Europe.
“Haihekou” is a post-Panamax car ro-ro ship powered by LNG. It meets the highest standards for nitrogen oxide and sulfur oxide emissions, meets the latest requirements of IMO EEDI Phase III indicators, EU Ship Recycling Convention, with outstanding safety, environmental protection and portworthiness.
The PCTC has an overall length of 199.9m, a beam of 38m, a depth of 14.8m and a design draught of 8.65m. It has a total of 13 car decks, of which 9 are fixed and 4 are movable, providing 7,500 standard parking spaces, with internal connections between decks realized by fixed/movable ramps.
It is worth noting that the 7,500 CEU LNG dual-fuel PCTC delivered this time is the 31st car carrier delivered by XSI over the years, which is another masterpiece in the field of green high-end shipbuilding industry.
