DSIC launchs FPSO-10 Project 7 Days Ahead of Schedule

On December 23rd, China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC) completed the launching of FPSO-10 project 7 days ahead of schedule.

The FPSO-10 project was named “Errea Wittu” and started construction in October last year. It is the fifth FPSO to be deployed by the owner ExxonMobil in the Stabroek oil field in Guyana. It is also the first Guyana FPSO project in which MODEC is the general contractor and DSIC is the hull subcontractor. DSIC is responsible for the design and construction of the FPSO floating hull, living quarters, module piers, and the construction, installation and integration of some upper modules.

The FPSO has a design life of 20 years, with an oil storage capacity of 2 million barrels. Flying the Bahamas flag and classed by ABS, it meets the requirements of SUSTAIN-1 sustainability and RBI inspection notation.

The front-end design, detailed design and production design of this project are all completed by DSIC independently, and AM is adopted to carry out 3D model visualization design, strictly follow the ergonomic design requirements and advanced operation requirements of material handling concept, and adopt the information management system to meet the whole life cycle service.

The project’s pre-outfitting rate and outfitting completeness set an industry benchmark, greatly improving production efficiency and gaining high praise from shipowners and end users. DSIC has achieved the targets of forming the main hull, completing the relevant large exterior structures and outfitting components, and finishing the coating work ahead of schedule.
