Jiangnan Shipyard and Fudan University jointly established a Ship + AI Joint Laboratory

On December 23, Jiangnan Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Fudan University to establish a Ship + AI Joint Laboratory.

Representatives of the two sides signed the contract under the witness of Lin Ou, Party Secretary and Chairman of Jiangnan Shipyard, and Jin Li, President of Fudan University and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences. At the scene, the Ship + AI Joint Laboratory was unveiled.

Under the framework of strategic cooperation, the two parties will jointly promote the construction of a new engineering community, cultivate more outstanding engineers, and contribute to solving difficult problems in the field of intelligent ship design and manufacturing.

Jin Li expressed his hope that the two parties will strengthen the construction of the cooperation platform, jointly set up a multidisciplinary joint research team, increase the efforts of project planning and reserve, and jointly build a good “Ship + AI” related scientific research platform, and strive to build an international base with characteristics, influence and innovation. And both sides will complement each other’s strengths, form a scientific research team with new engineering characteristics, and continue to produce a number of innovative cooperation results.

Lin Ou said that this signing can not only achieve complementary advantages between the two parties, but also provide a broad platform for promoting the deep integration of ships and AI. He hoped that through the joint efforts of both parties, a number of key core technologies will be broken through, a number of pioneering applications in the field of ships will be created, and a group of compound talents of “ships + AI” will be cultivated to support the high-quality development of the shipbuilding industry.
