On December 23rd, China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) Co. Ltd. (“CMJL (Weihai)” )delivered GUILLAUME DE NORMANDIE, the 12th E-Flexer RoPax vessel built for Swedish Stena RoRo.
Measuring 194.7 meters in length and 27.8 meters in breadth with a service speed of 23 knots, the vessel is capable of carrying various types of vehicles such as sedans and heavy duty vehicles. The vessel can carry 1,300 passengers, equipped with 222 cabins and 900 sets of luxury lounge chairs, and a pod cabin is added at 6A to meet the night accommodation needs of different passengers. Public entertainment venues include bars, lounges, shops, children’s playgrounds, pet rooms, sun decks, etc., to further enhance the travel experience.
Classed by DNV, the vessel meets the requirements of Shore Power, Battery(Power), SRTP and other new ship notation requirements, reflecting the diversification and flexibility of Stena E-Flexer series vessel design.
In addition to being equipped with an LNG dual-fuel system, a large-capacity battery system and a high-power shaft generator, the vessel also has oil, electricity and gas hybrid power and a more complex hybrid control system, an 11-megawatt ultra-large capacity battery and DC_LICK system, and a PTI motor propulsion capacity of approximately 1MW. Combined with the EPMS management system, it can achieve long-term pure electric mode endurance and achieve zero-emission navigation.
It is worth mentioning that the vessel’s intelligent assisted berthing Bird Eye system ensures fast maneuvering in and out of ports to meet the increasingly stringent requirements of the marine environment and port waterways.
The vessel is also equipped with energy efficiency management system and special bow and stern door design, which is compatible with the port of Portsmouth, UK and Ouistreham, France, and up to more than ten berths for berthing and loading, and plans the optimal sailing mode for the ship, which is a typical representative of the new generation of high-end RoPax vessels that are safe, comfortable, green and environmentally friendly.
