On December 23, the first 7,800 CEU LNG dual-fuel ocean-going PCTC (pure car and track carrier) in the series built by Jiangnan Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), for Anji Logistics Co., Ltd. was officially named “Anji Prestige” and signed for delivery on the same day, marking the successful completion of Jiangnan Shipyard’s 2024 civilian ship delivery mission.
Classed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and China Classification Society (CCS), the vessel is designed with an overall length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, a structural draft of 10.2 meters, with a service speed of 19 knots, and it is a neo-Panamax PCTC that complies with the latest international emission regulations.
Designed by Shanghai Ship Research and Design Institute (SDARI) and built by Jiangnan Shipyard, this series of vessels owns completely independent intellectual property rights and adopts dual-fuel kilometer design, which has many features such as high emission cleanliness, low fuel consumption, flexible operation, convenient maintenance and strong profitability, etc. This series of vessels is the world’s largest LNG green-powered PCTC in terms of loading capacity. It is worth mentioning that Jiangnan Shipbuilding has delivered 3 PCTCs for the whole year of 2024.
“Anji Prestige” is equipped with main engine WinGD 7X62DF2.1 and iCER system, LNG enclosure and gas supply system and ro-ro equipment system are all produced by the companies of CSSC, and the core equipment of the project has a very high rate of localization and autonomy. The PCTC has a milestone significance in the construction history of China’s large-scale automobile carriers, and truly realizes the “national shipbuilding and national transportation” of China’s automobile industry in ocean shipping.
According to the introduction, “Anji Prestige” is further upgraded on the basis of the previous ship type, which has many features such as wide range of suitable models, strong cargo carrying capacity, good green and energy-saving properties, high degree of automation, and high localization and autonomy of core equipment. It is planned to make its maiden voyage to Europe and later put into the U.S.-Mexico route, joining the international automobile ecosystem in a flexible manner, quickly adapting to the changing trend of the general environment, and providing a strong boost to the global shipping layout of Anji Logistics.
