CMJL (Weihai) delivers EPS’ fourth 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC ahead of schedule

On December 20, China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) Co. Ltd. CMJL (Weihai) delivered the 7,000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier) “LAKE TAZAWA” ahead of schedule to Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS). The vessel departed the shipyard on the same day.

“LAKE TAZAWA” is 199.9 meters long, 38 meters wide with a speed of 19 knots. The PCTC is equipped with 12 car decks with loading capacity up to 7,000 family cars, and the car decks are divided into fixed and movable types, which greatly improves the cargo handling efficiency and economic benefits of vessel operation.

It adopts green energy-saving and environmental protection design concepts and is equipped with an advanced high-pressure dual-fuel system, two 2,000 cubic meter LNG storage tanks, as well as a hybrid propulsion system of shaft generator and lithium battery.

Meanwhile, it adopts a number of environmental protection technologies, which can significantly reduce the emissions of sulfur oxide compounds, particulate matter and carbon, and meet the TIER III emission standards of the International Maritime Organization, featuring the advantages of economy, energy saving, environmental protection and high efficiency.

It is understood that “LAKE TAZAWA” is the third PCTC in the series delivered by CMJL (Weihai) this year.
