Jiangxi Jiangxin Shipbuilding inks for 6,000 HP Dual-Fuel Support Vessel and breaks ground for Geological Survey Vessel

On December 16, Jiangxi Jiangxin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jiangxi Military Industry Holding Group, held a steel cutting ceremony for the “Kan 407″ Engineering Geological Survey Vessel Project” and a signing ceremony for the “6,000 HP dual-fuel support vessel” built for the Shanghai Offshore Oil Bureau of Sinopec Group.

The 6000 HP dual-fuel support vessel is an LNG dual-fuel powered support vessel with an overall length of about 73.6 meters and a beam of 15.8 meters. It uses electric propulsion and has dynamic positioning and berthing capabilities. The maximum speed is 12.5 knots, the self-sustaining capacity is not less than 30 days, and it sails in unlimited navigation areas.

After completion, it will mainly provide various services for offshore oil and gas exploration and exploitation, as well as offshore structures and mobile facilities, etc. It has the functions of supplying, guarding and external fire-fighting.
