On December 12, China Yangtze Shipping Group held the launch of Green Bulk Carrier Capacity Pool for Yangtze River in Changshou District, Chongqing City.
China Yangtze Shipping Group will further integrate the green bulk carrier resources powered by LNG, methanol and other power sources in the Yangtze River Basin, and take the lead in establishing a Yangtze River green bulk carrier capacity pool with eight Yangtze River shipowners including Chongqing Yujian Logistics and Qinhe Shipping. Through collaborative operations, they will jointly provide customers with customized Yangtze River green express services.
This is a specific initiative by China Yangtze Shipping Group to lead the high-quality green development of dry bulk transportation on the Yangtze River and help the industry build a new generation of green, low-carbon, and sustainable inland waterway transportation systems. This follows the release of the “Initiative to Accelerate the Full Industrial Chain Development of Green Bulk Carriers on the Yangtze River” at the Second Inland Waterway High-Quality Development Forum on November 3rd.
Mr. Feng Boming, Deputy General Manager of the parent company China Merchants Group, pointed out that the group is fully accelerating the “third venture” with historical determination and courage, speeding up the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries, and actively promoting the development of the main shipping business. The joint establishment of the Yangtze River Green Bulk Carrier Capacity Pool is a vivid practice in accelerating the development of new productivity in the industry. By pioneering new operating models within the industry, they aim to establish new strengths, enhance upgrades, empower new capabilities, and improve quality. This initiative will promote the integration of the green ship industry chain, supply chain, value chain, and innovation chain, further boosting new momentum for the green development of Yangtze River shipping.
At the ceremony, China Yangtze Shipping Group introduced the mechanism for establishing the Yangtze River Green Bulk Carrier Capacity Pool and its operating rules. The relevant founding units signed a cooperation contract around deepening industry-integrated cooperation and promoting common development.
