PIL Takes Delivery of a 14,000 TEU LNG Dual-Fuel Containership from Jiangnan Shipyard

On December 12, the second ship (H2786) “KOTA EMERALD” in the 14,000TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship series built by Jiangnan Shipyard, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), for Pacific International Lines (PIL) was officially signed and delivered. The ship was named on October 15, the same day as the first ship in the series, further consolidating the company’s large dual-fuel container ship construction model.

There are 4 ships in this series, which are 14000TEU LNG dual-fuel container ships built by Jiangnan Shipyard for PIL. The ship is 335 meters long and 51 meters wide. It is a large container ship of the “Kun Series” (KUN-14N) independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Shipyard. It is a new type of efficient, green, energy-saving and environmentally friendly ship independently developed and designed by Jiangnan Institute of Technology (JIT).

This series of ships is equipped with MARK III fuel tanks, which are compatible with ammonia fuel. The dual-fuel main engines use the world’s new generation of Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling (iCER 2.0), capable of automatically tracking and dynamically adjusting the air and gas ratio through specific algorithms. Compared to previous models, methane slip in gas mode can be reduced by 50%, and greenhouse gas emissions are reduced by more than 28%.

PIL serves customers in over 500 locations, with a focus on Asia, China, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, Oceania and the Pacific Islands. Operating a fleet of around 100 container vessels, we provide shipping services and solutions to customers in more than 90 countries worldwide.
