Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Headquarters to Further Expand Production Capacity

Recently, CSSC Ninth Design & Research Institute(CSSC NDRI) took the lead with Shanghai Construction Engineering No.2 Construction Group in the form of a consortium to win won the bidding for the general contracting project of gap capacity filling for the overall relocation project of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding Headquarters.

Located in the second phase of CSSC Changxing Shipbuilding Base on Changxing Island, Chongming District, Shanghai, the project is a major construction project of the National Development and Reform Commission as well as a key project of Shanghai.

The project has a new construction area of 47,316 square meters, which will further rationalize the shipbuilding process, break through the production bottlenecks, systematically improve the comprehensive production capacity of the hull joint workshop, block welding workshop, block pre-outfitting workshop, coating workshop, distribution center, etc., and comprehensively enhance the efficiency.

After completed, the project will further enhance the transformation of Shanghai Changxing Island Marine Equipment Base from manufacturing to smart manufacturing, promote intelligent production lines and green shipbuilding technology, and create a world advanced whole-factor industrial base integrating assembly integration, system modules, core support, production services, etc.
