On December 11, SXD6L40/52G medium-speed high-power gas engine with the largest cylinder diameter and the largest single-cylinder power independently developed by China State Shipbuilding Corporation’s Shanxi Diesel Heavy Industry passed the performance appraisal, filling the blank of medium-speed high-power natural gas engine in China, marking a major breakthrough in the field of domestic medium- and high-speed high-power gas engine by Shanxi Diesel Heavy Industry.
It has been certified that the SXD6L40/52G gas engine can achieve precise control of the air-fuel ratio in a wide range of operating conditions, efficient lean combustion with a single-cylinder power of 605kW, filling the gap in domestic medium-speed, high-power natural gas engines.
At the same time, the SXD6L40/52G engine can meet Tier III emission requirements, and the design life of core components exceeds 32,000 hours. The development process of this project focused on property protection and achievement accumulation, and a total of 39 patents were generated, including 14 invention patents and 1 software copyright. This product is mainly aimed at the domestic and foreign high-power combustible power market above 3MW, and is widely applicable to LNG, natural gas, biogas and other combustible gas application scenarios, providing users with highly reliable power.
In recent years, Shanxi Diesel Heavy Industry has always been focusing on the development of core basic components of power equipment, key technology research, independent design, etc., driven by innovation, technology leadership, and cyclic iteration, and has continuously achieved new breakthroughs. The successful certification of the SXD6L40/52G high-power gas engine indicates that China has mastered the key technologies of ignition, efficient combustion, emission control, etc. of 400mm cylinder medium-speed internal combustion engines, and achieved independent control of core technologies.
In the future, Shanxi Diesel Heavy Industry will increase investment in the series development of this type of product, accelerate the development of SXD40/52 dual-fuel, methanol fuel, ammonia fuel and other engines, and promote the self-reliance of China’s power equipment self-reliance and “low-carbon, zero-carbon” development.
