COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers received a 72,000 DWT multi-purpose vessel

On December 10, Japan’s Oshima Shipbuilding named and delivered the second 72,000 DWT series multi-purpose vessel “GREEN NAGOYA” build for COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers.

The GREEN NAGOYA is about 210 meters long, 36 meters wide, with a designed speed of 14.5 knots and an endurance of 22,000 nautical miles. The main engine is equipped with an EGR exhaust gas recirculation and reuse function, and the generator is equipped with an SCR device, which meets the carbon emission TIRE III requirements.

The cargo holds of the vessel are all box-type, which can be used for containers, frame boxes, new energy vehicles, large mechanical equipment and other goods; and are equipped with a rotary dehumidifier, which can fully guarantee the quality and safety of pulp cargo transportation. In order to ensure the safety of new energy vehicle transportation, this series of vessels has also added a “one-to-one” temperature monitoring and early warning system.

It is reported that the maiden voyage of “GREEN NAGOYA” will transport engineering machinery vehicles and other cargoes from domestic ports to Tanzania, serving the weekly Southeast Africa direct express flights that will be officially launched by COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers.

According to public information, COSCO SHIPPING Specialized Carriers currently owns and controls more than 150 vessels of various types with a total deadweight tonnage of about 6 million tons. The scale and strength of its special transport fleet are among the best in the world. In recent years, it has successively operated more than 40 multi-purpose vessels of 62,000 DWT, 68,000 DWT, 72,000 DWT and 77,000 DWT. The “GREEN NAGOYA” named and delivered this time is the second DWT in the 72,000 DWT series.
