Recently, the first cargo tank of the 175,000 cubic meter LNG carrier built by Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (DSIC), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, successfully passed the ammonia gas test. This achievement has received unanimous praise from the shipowner, ship inspector and GTT and other participating construction institutions.
Ammonia gas test is the most critical part in the construction of cargo containment system of Mark III LNG carrier. The test lasted for 6 days, and ammonia detection was successfully completed on 10,500 meters of automatic welds in the entire cabin, A3 welds in the boundary area, 2,253 corner component welds, and 2,977 meters of manual welds, with excellent test results.
DSIC will take this ammonia test as a favorable opportunity to focus on lean production, strictly control product quality, overcome various difficulties and challenges in the construction of the cargo containment system, and successfully complete subsequent production tasks.
