Chongqing Jinlong Shipbuilding breaks ground for a 650-passenger cruise ship

On December 9, Chongqing Jinlong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. breaks ground for a new 650-passenger Changjiang River luxury cruise ship “Century Dream” for Chongqing Guanda Century Cruise Co., Ltd.

Chongqing Guanda Century Cruises is now a high-tech industrial investment of Chongqing Guanda Holding Group. The company owns a fleet of 12 modern and technologically advanced Changjiang River super five-star cruise ships under the “Century Cruises” brand and is a benchmark enterprise in China’s inland cruise industry.

The cruise ship that has commenced construction is the latest model of luxury cruise ship on the Changjiang River, with a capacity of 650 passengers. It has an overall length of 149.98 meters, a beam of 21.20 meters and a depth of 4.60 meters with a design speed of 26 km/h.

The ship features a three-engine, three-propeller electric propulsion system with the CSMD Electric Propulsion System. It is equipped with Engine Room Automation Level 1, Green Ship Level 2, Intelligent Energy Efficiency Management (i-ship(E)), Ship Comfort Level (Vibration 3), and Ship Comfort Level (Noise 3).

The cruise ship will mainly sail between Chongqing and Shanghai on the Changjiang River main line, and will be used to receive domestic and foreign guests to visit the Three Gorges of the Changjiang River. It can also be used for high-end government and business receptions, which is a mobile five-star water hotel from Chongqing to Shanghai on the Changjiang River main line.

It is understood that in June 2024, Chongqing Jinlong Shipbuilding was fully reorganized, and the technical and management elite teams of the domestic shipbuilding industry were introduced successively, and the production and processing sites were fundamentally renovated and the main equipment and facilities were upgraded. The shipyard now has 12,000 square meters of indoor workshops, 18,000 square meters of outdoor slipways, gantry cranes with a lifting capacity of 150 tons, and more than 280 sets of various processing equipment. The production and operation has entered a new stage of development.

Just last month, Jinlong Shipbuilding signed a 110-meter oil/chemical tanker construction project with Chongqing Qianfeng Shipping. This marks a new breakthrough for this “new shipyard” in the field of oil/chemical tanker construction.
