CMJL (Weihai) completed the sea trials of EPS’s fourth 7,000 CEU ro-ro vessel

On December 9, China Merchants Jingling Shipyard (Weihai) Co. Ltd. (“CMJL (Weihai)”) completed the sea trials of the fourth 7,000 CEU ro-ro vessel W0303 build for Eastern Pacific Shipping (“EPS”) on schedule.

On August 30, 2021, CMJL (Weihai) and EPS signed a contract for the construction of 4+2 7,000 CEU dual-fuel ro-ro vessels, and on March 8, 2022, the two parties signed a contract for the construction of two 7,000 CEU dual-fuel ro-ro vessels, which is an option order for the two parties following the signing of the four vessels of the same type in 2021.

This series of vessels is 199.9 meters long, 38 meters wide, with a design draft of 8.6 meters, a gross tonnage of 72,000 tons and a design speed of 19.5 knots.

It has a total of 12 cargo decks, adopts a high-pressure dual-fuel main engine, equipped with two 2,000 cubic meters LNG storage tanks, which meets the requirements of TIER III emission standards of the International Maritime Organization. In addition, the vessel has features and advantages such as economic and environmental protection, safety and efficiency.
