Changhong International Delivers Last 5,300 TEU Container Ship to NAVIOS

On December 9, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co. LTD (Changhong International) completed the online signing and delivery of the tenth 5,300 TEU container ship “ZIM ALBATROSS” (CHB2015) built for the Greek shipowner NAVIOS MARITIME PARTNERS L. P. through video link. Thus, the 10 5,300 TEU container ship project has come to a perfect conclusion.

It is understood that this series of 5,300 TEU container ships is the first project of cooperation between Changhong International and NAVIOS, with an overall length of about 237.8 meters, a beam of 38.8 meters, a depth of 21.8 meters, and classed by DNV.

The ship design breaks through the limitation of traditional container ship’s narrow body shape, equipped with high efficient and energy-saving power reduction main engine, low fuel consumption, EEDI energy consumption index, etc. is lower than the baseline index by more than 30, which meets the phase 3 requirements.

This series of ships are equipped with 2.5-layer lashing bridges and can carry 3,845 14T containers, which is 145-345 more spaces more compared with other ships of the same ship type. Equipped with 1,000 cold box sockets, it can load 750 cold boxes at the same time, and is equipped with ultra-low sulfur oil system, AMP, SCR and BWMS, which demonstrates its green and environmentally friendly sailing concept in all aspects.

ZIM ALBATROSS will set sail on December 10th with its maiden voyage to the port of Gai Mai in Vietnam.
