COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian) builds multi-purpose pulp vessels in batches

On December 6, COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian)’s series of multi-purpose pulp vessel project achieved two important milestones on the same day: one vessel started construction and one vessel was launched, and the construction of the series of vessels was rapidly advanced.

On the morning of December 6, 77,000 DWT multi-purpose pulp vessel Project N1123 was towed and launched. This project is the 15th 77,000 DWT multi-purpose pulp vessel built by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Dalian).

The 77,000 DWT multi-purpose pulp vessel has a total length of 225 meters, a beam of 32.26 meters, a depth of 21 meters, a design speed of 15 knots and a range of 25,000 nautical miles. The vessel is a multi-purpose vessel with box-type cargo hold and global routing.

On the same day, the fourth 84,500 DWT multi-purpose pulp vessel N1185 built by Dalian COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry was ignited and started construction.

The series 84,500 DWT multi-purpose pulp vessel has an overall length of 225 meters, a beam of 36 meters and a depth of 21.05 meters. In addition to transporting pulp, the vessel can also carry bulk cargoes such as grains, iron ore, steel coils, etc., bulky cargoes such as trains, wind power equipment, large mechanical equipment, etc., as well as containers and energy vehicles.

The vessel’s main and auxiliary engines are equipped with SCR systems, meet NOx TIER III emission requirements, are equipped with intelligent ship systems, and have obtained additional notations for green ecological vessels, methanol preset, and carbon capture preset.

The vessel can load up to 3,600 standard 20-foot containers, and the maximum loading capacity of the vessel can be up to 4,000 vehicles with foldable special frame for commercial vehicles.
