CIMC SOE kicks off the construction of a PSV

On December 4, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (CIMC SOE) successfully held the steel cuttting ceremony for SPP40 oil platform supply vessel (PSV, Hull No. S1096).

It is understood that the multi-purpose oil PSV started this time has a total length of 81.75 meters, a beam of 17.40 meters, a depth of 7.8 meters, a designed draft of 6.3 meters, a deadweight of 4,000 tons, and is classed by Bureau Veritas (BV).

Equipped with two tunnel bow thrusters and two fully-rotating rudder propellers, the PSV utilizes an oil-electric hybrid power system, which not only enhances the vessel’s operational flexibility, but also significantly reduces fuel consumption and emission levels.

Meanwhile, the vessel’s design integrates a number of advanced technologies and features, including unmanned cabin, 7-day zero emission, secondary power positioning system, sea surface fouling oil elimination operation capability, vibration and noise comfort class 3, and other classification notations.

The PSV has a deck cargo area of 800 square meters and is specially used to transport a variety of materials including methanol, fresh water, fuel oil, cement, mud, drilling water and deck cargo, which greatly improves its versatility and operational efficiency.

Previously, CIMC SOE successfully started the construction of SPP40 oil PSV of the same series (Hull No. S1095) one month ago, and the commencement of the construction of S1096 is undoubtedly another new starting point.
