On December 3, two new-generation “mobile castles at sea” – TYPE 3 jack-up support platforms built by CSSC Wuhan Marine Machinery Plant (WMMP) were successfully delivered. The platforms will go to the Middle East waters to carry out oilfield support services.
The TYPE 3 jack-up support platform is a multifunctional support platform independently designed and built by WMMP, which has platform lifting, cargo lifting, self-propelled, and living functions. It can provide all-round functional support for oil production.
The platform’s bow is equipped with a high-end accommodation block, designed to house 150 crew members for work and living, with additional space and facilities reserved for expansion to 200 people.
The living area is built to the standards of a star-rated hotel, fully equipped with facilities including a large dining room, gym, conference room, and prayer room to meet the crew’s recreational and entertainment needs. Some rooms can also cater to the personalized requirements of crew members from different nationalities.
To further enhance quality, upgrades were made during the platform’s construction to the dining room, bridge, conference room, senior cabins, corridors, and stairways. Compared to the initial design, decorative light strips, edging, partitions, and personalized decorative paintings and carpets were added. Additionally, the flooring across the entire platform was upgraded, creating a “floating castle” at sea.
It is understood that the two platforms are a new batch of jack-up support platforms designed and built by WMMP for overseas customers. The smooth delivery of the platforms further consolidates the company’s competitive advantage in the field of marine engineering equipment and lays the foundation for more international cooperation.
After more than ten years of rapid development, WMMP’s offshore platform business has gradually grown into a first-class domestic multifunctional self-elevating offshore platform general contractor.
So far, it has built more than 30 self-elevating offshore platforms. Among them, the export self-elevating support platform is mainly operated in the Middle East, providing services to internationally renowned oil companies. It is the manufacturer that delivers the most platforms of this type in China. To this end, the company has also established an after-sales service station in the Middle East to provide continuous, timely and high-quality after-sales guarantee services to customers in the Middle East.
