On November 27, New Times Shipbuilding held a naming ceremony for two 159,000 DWT crude oil tankers. The two vessels were successfully named “TOSKA” and “IPANEMA” respectively.
On the afternoons of the 28th and 29th, Zhang Yuyong, Executive Deputy General Manager of New Times Shipbuilding, signed the delivery documents for the two 159,000 DWT crude oil carriers with representatives from Greek shipowner TMS. Both vessels have been completed and delivered to the owner for operation.
The two 159,000 DWT crude oil carriers are the third and fourth of the four vessels currently ordered by Greek shipowner TMS.
This type of crude oil tanker has a total length of 274 meters, a beam of 50 meters, a structural draft of 16.8 meters, and a tank capacity of approximately 180,000 cubic meters.
At the design draft, with the main engine power at NCR, equipped with PSV and HVAF, and with a 15% sea margin reserve, the vessel can achieve a speed of about 13.9 knots. When the main engine operates with a full fuel tank and only one shaft generator running, the vessel has an endurance of approximately 23,500 nautical miles.
