CNOOC Brings On-stream Huizhou 26-6 Oilfield Development Project

On December 2, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) has announced that oil production has commenced at its Huizhou 26-6 Oilfield Development Project, its first deep buried hill reservoir facility in the South China Sea.

The company owns and operates the project located in the Pearl River Mouth Basin, with an average water depth of approximately 110 metres. Its main products include light crude and natural gas.

In a statement, CNOOC said the main production facilities include an intelligent drilling production platform, as well as the adaptively-modified “NAN HAI FEN JIN” FPSO. A total of 19 development wells are planned to be commissioned, including two oil production wells and 17 gas production wells.

Huizhou 26-6’s peak production is expected to reach approximately 20,600 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2027.
