Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding starts construction on three high-end vessels

On December 2nd, three ships were simultaneously ignited and commenced construction at Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). The three ships are the second vessel for the PETRONAS project (H1895A), the third vessel for the CNOOC Phase II project (H1888A), and the fourth 24,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship built for CMA CGM (H1907A).

The 24,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship H1907A built by Hudong-Zhonghua for CMA CGM has an overall length of 399 meters, a beam of 61.3 meters, and a design draft of 14.5 meters. This vessel can carry 220,000 tons of cargo, 23,872 TEU containers in a single load, including 2,200 standard refrigerated containers. The maximum number of stacked containers is 24, which is equivalent to the height of a 22-story building. It is a veritable “giant” on the sea.

This product is a model of Hudong-Zhonghua’s high-end marine equipment, and its high-end, intelligent and environmentally friendly standards are highly recognized by users and the international shipbuilding industry.

It is understood that both the second vessel for the PETRONAS project and the third vessel for the CNOOC Phase II project are 174,000 cubic meter fifth-generation “Changheng Series” LNG carriers, independently developed and designed by Hudong-Zhonghua.

These vessels have a total length of 299 meters, a beam of 46.4 meters, and a depth of 26.25 meters. Equipped with multiple low-carbon and energy-saving technologies, compared to previous LNG ships, they feature lower overall energy consumption, better low-temperature performance, higher cargo capacity, and more efficient operation and maintenance.

They can reduce daily sailing carbon emissions by more than 10 tons and have excellent global navigation capabilities, reaching 120 LNG terminals across all continents.
