Fujian Shipbuilding delivers one 18,500 DWT oil/chemical tanker, holding orders for 27 more

On December 2, Fujian Southeast Shipyard Co., Ltd (Southeast Shipyard), a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Industry Group Corporation (Fujian Shipbuilding), successfully delivered its first 18500DWT oil/chemical tanker (DN18500-1).

It is reported that it is the first 18,500DWT oil/chemical tanker jointly built by Southeast Shipyard and the British shipowner Union Maritime Limited.

It has a total length of 149.8 meters, a beam of 22.8 meters, and a design draft of 8.5 meters. The main use of the vessel is to transport refined oil, vegetable oil, and bulk chemicals (Class II and III) with a flash point ≤60°C, meeting the requirements of the IBC Code.

The vessel features shallow draft and large cargo capacity, and it meets the requirements for unrestricted navigation areas.

Currently, Fujian Shipbuilding holds orders for 27 18,500DWT oil/chemical tankers.
