On November 28th, Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering Co., Ltd (“CIMC SOE”) held a successful steel cutting ceremony for the 24,000 m3 ethylene carrier (S1107) built for Singapore Petredec Company.
It is understood that the ethylene carrier, which started construction this time, is completely developed and designed by CIMC SOE independently.
Adopting the latest design concepts and technologies, the vessel represents the advanced level of the new generation of ethylene carriers. Its optimized hull line and reasonable layout not only enhance the cargo carrying capacity, but also provide a design speed of up to 16 knots.
In addition, the vessel is equipped with the most advanced WinGD 5X52-S2.0-iSCR main engine, scrubber tower and shaft generator. These equipments not only significantly reduce pollutant and greenhouse gas emissions during operation, but also significantly reduce fuel consumption, making it a new generation of energy-saving and environmentally friendly ethylene carrier.
