On November 28, Chongqing Chuandong Shipbuilding Industry (Chuandong Shipbuilding) named and delivered the 6,300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker designed and developed by the Marine Design and Research Institute of China (MARIC) for COSCO Shipping.
The 6300 DWT stainless steel chemical tanker, with an overall length of 110.5 meters, a beam of 17.3 meters, a depth of 9.3 meters and a design draught of about 6.4 meters, is a single propeller driven IMO II chemical tanker for the bulk transportation of liquid chemicals.
The vessel is flexible in loading, can load 12 different kinds of chemicals at the same time, and adopts a number of energy-saving measures to improve the navigation economy. In addition, the vessel is structurally optimized and equipped with intelligent energy efficiency management and intelligent navigation functions.
MARIC has rich experience and bright performance in the field of oil tanker design, and in recent years has successfully developed and designed many small and medium-sized oil tankers for domestic and foreign shipowners.
MARIC is actively carrying out the R&D and design work of new energy vessels such as ammonia fuel, methanol fuel, battery power, etc., and will continue to provide more customers with excellent vessels with advanced design indexes and competitive advantages.
