GSI Completes launching of two dual-fuel ships

On November 25, Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI), a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), successfully completed the launching of a MSC/GNV dual-fuel ro-ro passenger ship, a H-LINE8600 CEU dual-fuel PCTC (pure car and track carrier) and a special ship, which marks GSI’s completion of the fourth batch of launchings at Dock No. 2 this year.

The MSC/GNV dual-fuel ro-ro passenger ship is the third in the series built by GSI for the Italian Mediterranean Shipping Group (MSC). The ship not only has a greener LNG dual-fuel power, but also has a cabin number increased from 241 to 426, with a higher level of functionality and comfort, which can effectively meet the growing and diversified needs of passengers, thereby improving the economic performance of the ship.

The ship is GSI’s first self-developed and designed LNG dual-fuel ro-ro passenger ship. The ship has an additional LNG fuel system and meets the green plus class notation for green requirements and the biosafe class notation for biosafety control.

The H-LINE 8600 CEU PCTC series is the “expanded and upgraded version 2.0” of the 7000 CEU dual-fuel PCTC. The PCTC has an overall length of 200 meters, a beam of 38 meters, with a design speed of 19 knots, an LNG dual-fuel propulsion system and a total of 14 vehicle decks. While maintaining the main scale of 7,000 CEU PCTC, the ship’s loading capacity is increased by 1,600 CEU, which can meet the shipowner’s vehicle transportation needs to the greatest extent.

The H-LINE8600 CEU dual-fuel PCTC that was launched this time has made bold innovations in the form of segmentation, which has greatly improved the loading efficiency. In the overall segment stage, the insulation laying has been realized, laying the foundation for the smooth progress of subsequent work.

The recently launched 600-car dual-fuel PCTC (Pure Car and Truck Carrier) has made bold innovations in its segmentation design, significantly enhancing assembly efficiency.

In addition, GSI also has completed the launching of one special ship and the floating of two half-ships.
