JSHT Wins Contract for Four 64,000 DWT Bulk Carriers form Ningbo Ocean Shipping

On November 27, Ningbo Ocean Shipping Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as Ningbo Ocean Shipping”) issued the “Announcement on the signing of the Construction Contract for four 64,000 DWT bulk carriers”.

The announcement disclosed that after public bidding, Ningbo Ocean Shipping signed a contract for the construction of four 64,000 DWT bulk carriers with Jiangsu Haitong Offshore Engineering Equipment Co.,Ltd.(JSHT) on November 26, 2024. The total investment of the project shall not exceed RMB 1.165 billion (about $161 million). The four vessels will be delivered between August 2027 and December 2027.

The project can not only optimize the structure of Ningbo Shipping’s fleet and increase the company’s international shipping capacity, but also meet the requirements of energy conservation and emission reduction, thereby further enhancing the competitiveness of Ningbo Ocean Shipping.

According to previous reports, on October 9, Ningbo Ocean Shipping announced the construction of four 64,000 DWT bulk carriers. The announcement disclosed that Ningb Ocean Shipping plans to adopt the “2+2” model to build four bulk carriers in China, with an estimated total investment of no more than RMB 1.165 billion. The first vessel is expected to be delivered in the second half of 2027.

JSHT is located in the first class open ports, the provincial key shipbuilding park—Rugao port. With a total land area of 500,000 m2, has 660m outfitting quay. JSHT promotes modern shipbuilding model, has one dry dock of 400m*50m; with one 1,100ton and one 300ton gantry crane; 10,000ton outfitting quay with two 4075 cranes; has pretreatment workshop, steel-cutting workshop, block workshop, piping workshop and painting workshop etc., the total production workshop area is 100,000 m2, with other 1000 sets advanced equipment.
