CIMC Raffles’ “Xianjing Yantai” Drilling Rig Conducts Special Inspection in Norway

According to CIMC Raffles Offshore (CIMC Raffles), the semi-submersible drilling rig “Xianjing Yantai”, which is operated and managed by CIMC Raffles, had its five-year special inspection at the Coast Center Base (“CCB”) shipyard in Bergen, Norway, from the end of October to the middle of November, 2024.

“Xianjing Yantai” is a sixth-generation semi-submersible drilling rig built by Yantai CIMC Raffles, which is suitable for the extremely harsh operating environment. The platform is operated and managed by CIMC Raffles and operated by Odfjell Drilling (“ODL”), a well-known drilling contractor in the North Sea.

In 2019, under the joint efforts of the three parties, “Xianjing Yantai” started drilling for the well-known oil company Neptune Energy in the Norwegian North Sea on November 1, after several months of operational adaptation.

In the following five years, the platform has been operating in the Norwegian North Sea for Shell, OMV Norge AS, Wellesley and other well-known oil companies in a number of oilfields for exploration wells, abandonment and sealing wells, and has won a good reputation in the market for its high efficiency and stable operational efficiency, and continues to create value for customers.
