DACKS held delivery ceremony for the 64,000 DWT bulk carrier built for YOKOYAMA

On November 20, Dalian COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co Ltd. (DACKS) held a naming and delivery ceremony for the 64,000 DWT bulk carrier built for Japanese shipowner YOKOYAMA. The new vessel was named “MERCURY ISLAND”.

“MERCURY ISLAND” has a length of about 199.90 meters, a beam of about 32.24 meters, a design speed of about 13.8 knots which meets the requirements of EEDI phase 3. This vessel is a star product further optimized by DACKS on the basis of 61,000 DWT bulk carrier.

It is worth noting that this is the first cooperation between the two sides, and the successful delivery of the vessel has laid a solid foundation for future in-depth cooperation between the two sides.
