On November 19, Zhoushan Changhong International Shipyard Co. LTD (Changhong International) completed the online signing and delivery of the ninth 5,300 TEU container ship, CHB2026, named “NAVIOS UNITE,” built for Greek shipowner NAVIOS MARITIME PARTNERS L.P. via video conference.
The “NAVIOS UNITE” will set sail on its maiden voyage on November 20.
The project includes a total of ten 5,300 TEU container ships, with an overall length of about 237.8 meters, a beam of 38.8 meters and a depth of 21.8 meters.
Classed by DNV, the ship is optimized for line shape, equipped with optimized power reduction main engine, low fuel consumption, EEDI energy consumption index etc. is more than 30 below the baseline index.
Equipped with a 2.5- layer lashing bridge, the ship can carry 3,845 TEUs, which is 145-345 TEUs more compared to other designs of the same ship.
In addition, it is equipped with ultra-low sulfur oil system, AMP, SCR and BWMS, which is green and meets the latest specifications.
Navios is a New York-listed company who owns more than 220 vessels of all types, including tankers, bulk carriers, and container ships; of which more than 40 are container ships of 2,800 TEU to 10,000 TEU.
In March of this year, Changhong International also secured orders from NAVIOS for two 115,000 DWT LR2 product oil tankers. This marks the continued collaboration between Changhong International and NAVIOS following the 2021 agreement for ten 5,300 TEU container ships and the 2023 agreement for four 115,000 DWT oil tankers.
